Overview

Project Manager (Owner's Representative) - Redberry Restaurants

About the role

Looking ahead, Redberry Restaurants has a robust pipeline of construction projects and is presently in search of a proactive individual to take on the role of Project Manager (Owner's Representative) in Toronto. The Project Manager will be responsible for providing dependable, timely, and expert guidance in the day-to-day management of restaurant new store opening and remodel capital projects. This role involves collaborating with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders across different organizational levels. The successful candidate will need to exercise independent judgment in planning, prioritizing, and organizing a varied workload. We expect the selected candidate to deliver outstanding project management oversight for designated Redberry projects, showcasing exceptional client service while developing and enhancing their professional and personal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring projects are completed within specified scope, schedule, budget, and meeting expectations.
  • Managing multiple projects in different developmental stages.
  • Negotiating and ensuring accountability of all involved parties as per contracted services.
  • Coordinating activities among large project teams involving head office departments, design consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, restaurant operators, and other stakeholders.
  • Managing coordination between base building and tenant improvement scope, including negotiations with landlords and contractors.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining specific project management processes.
  • Proactively communicating project status and maintaining tracking reports with stakeholders.
  • Detailed financial and schedule management and reporting.
  • Utilizing a customized project management platform / technology.
  • Leading project meetings and ensuring efficient documentation of minutes.
  • Proactively identifying and documenting project risks along with risk mitigation plans.
  • Actively troubleshooting, problem-solving, and tracking project performance indicators.
  • Managing Redberry's financial performance per project.
Relationships
  • Cultivating both new and existing business relationships.
  • Collaborating with Redberry peers, Brand partners, and consultants.
  • Establishing trust with department heads, landlords, consultants, and contractors.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Over 5 years of Professional Consulting experience as an Owner’s Representative Project Manager.
  • Led capital projects of $1M+ from start to finish without supervision.
  • Cross-sector experience in delivering projects within Commercial, Industrial, Retail, and Institutional buildings.
  • Project Controls experience encompassing Financial, Schedule, Quality, Risk, and Procurement.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing client relationships.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and solution development skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in scheduling, estimating, and cost control.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Preferred Attributes
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Real Estate Development, Architecture, Planning, Engineering, and / or Construction Science.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) or other recognized Sustainability designation.
  • Commercial kitchens and / or restaurant construction
  • Previous experience in new build and renovation within the hospitality sector is ideal.
