Job summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a Nutrition Associate to assist in all areas of Food Service operations within the hospital. Primary duties include collecting patient meal selections, tray assembly, nourishment preparation, and meal delivery.

You will support diet changes, dishwashing, cleaning, and customer service, with emphasis on food safety, teamwork, and timely service. Valid Food Handlers Certificate is required, and English communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated skills developed through experience in efficient, hygienic, cleaning techniques and knowledge of the food production system.
  • Physically capable of carrying out duties which may include heavy lifting.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility and to perform duties with minimal direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment by taking on both leader and follower roles as required, cooperating with the team objectives, and taking initiative to assist in the completion of tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate in English, both verbal and written and ability to communicate by initiating and communicating in a sensitive, thoughtful, and timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve.
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Collect patient meal selections and assemble trays.
  • Prepare nourishment, enteral feeding, and formula as required.
  • Deliver meals and nourishment to patients.
  • Collect trays and assist with diet changes as directed.
  • Perform dishwashing, cleaning, and maintain hygienic food service areas.
  • Provide courteous customer service to patients and staff.

Job description

The Nutrition Associate assists in all areas of Food Service operation.
