Job summary

100 Mile House Residential is seeking a Casual Nursing Unit Assistant in 100 Mile House, BC. You’ll work rotating days, 07:30–15:30, serving as a key unit support with flexible hours and potential transition opportunities to permanent roles.

Responsibilities include processing orders, coordinating patient care, maintaining charts, data entry and clerical duties. Competitive wages, shift premiums, employer-paid training and an Employee & Family Assistance Program are offered.

Qualifications

  • Typing test 40 wpm completed within 48 months from a recognized institution.
  • Nursing Unit Clerk certificate or proof of program completion.
  • Grade 12 plus one year recent related experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing, processing, coordinating and transcribing physicians’ orders.
  • Acting as a communication link for the Unit.
  • Scheduling, booking and coordinating patient/resident appointments.
  • Assembling and maintaining patient/resident charts and inputting data into systems.
  • Clerical duties including data entry, filing, statistics, reports and minutes.
  • Maintaining timekeeping records for regular and relief staff and payroll input.
  • Observing patient/resident call signals and relaying messages.

100 Mile House Residential has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Nursing Unit Assistant to join their team in 100 Mile House, B.C.

Hours of work are rotating, days, from 07:30 to 15:30.

Required Documents
  • Typing Test – Minimum 40 wpm, completed within the last 48 months from a recognized institution.
  • Nursing Unit Clerk – Certificate or proof of program completion
  • Education & Experience – Grade 12 plus one year recent related experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)

About the Role

Responsibilities
  • Prioritizing, processing, coordinating and transcribing physicians’ orders;
  • Acting as a communication link for the Unit;
  • Scheduling, booking and coordinating patient/resident appointments;
  • Assembling and maintaining patient/resident charts, inputting patient/resident data and transcribing information into relevant systems such as MARS, Kardex, Careplan, charts or electronic health record systems;
  • Clerical duties - keyboarding, data entry, filing, compiling, preparing and maintaining statistics, producing reports, delivering and picking up items, maintaining unit supply levels and meeting minutes;
  • Maintaining timekeeping records for regular and relief staff and submitting/entering to payroll systems;
  • Observing patient/resident call signals and relays messages to the appropriate personnel.
