A leading healthcare provider in Calgary is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) for a temporary part-time position. The HCA will provide ongoing client care, monitor client's condition, and ensure medications are delivered as per policy. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, a recognized HCA program, and active registration in the Alberta HCA Directory. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English required.
  • Must be physically capable of managing frequent lifting, transferring, and repositioning of clients.
  • Active and current registration in the Alberta HCA Directory required.
  • Related experience in a health care facility is an asset.
  • Program specific training/experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

Position Status: Temporary Part Time Term End: March 01, 2026 Location: Colonel Belcher Complex Continuing Care (2nd Floor) BW Hours: 54.25 FTE: 0.70 Shift: Days/Evenings Shift Times: 0715-1530/1515-2330 Union: AUPE Aux Nursing Rate of Pay: $20.77 - $26.02 PCN: tmpCBLCNA041

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Care, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is an unregulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides on-going client care. The HCA observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in physical and emotional status. The HCA ensures that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

This position delivers prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure. In keeping with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care and Carewest policies this position maintains professional and ethical standards at all times. Responsible for other related duties as required.

Program Summary

Complex Care – for frail seniors who require the care of an interdisciplinary team to maintain and improve quality of life in safe, comfortable and supportive environments. Carewest offers a mix of secured and unsecured units
