Job summary

Peterborough Family Health Team seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join its multi-disciplinary team in Peterborough, Ontario. The NP will practice within full scope under the MD-NP Collaborative Practice agreement to improve access to primary care and patient quality of life.

The role involves health assessments, wellness care, diagnosing and treating illnesses, chronic disease monitoring, ordering diagnostics, prescribing medications, and contributing to education for NP students.

Qualifications

• Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class.
• Successful completion of the Nurse Practitioner education program.
• Preferred 3–5 years in community health nursing in a primary care and/or rural setting.
• Interest in supporting FHOs same day clinic or TransCare clinic is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete health assessments including health history and physical examinations.
• Provide wellness care and health screening.
• Diagnose and treat minor illnesses and injuries.
• Screen for and treat chronic illness and monitor stable chronic illnesses.
• Order and interpret reports of X-Rays, ECGs, diagnostic ultrasound, MRIs and CT scans.
