Job summary

Fraser Health's Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, BC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care to support the Psychiatry Unit. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering medical and psychiatric care to inpatients and, when appropriate, outpatients transitioning to the community.

Qualifications

• Current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Recent relevant clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and treats patients within NP scope of practice; writes orders and provides first-line care in emergencies.
• Collaborates with physicians and other health professionals to assess and diagnose status and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribes medications within regulatory standards and employer policies.
• Assigns work to nursing and health care staff; provides education and supervision as needed.
• Participates in research and population health initiatives to improve patient care.
