Salary: CAD $60.75 - $87.33 / hour

Job Summary:

This role is for Nurse Practitioners passionate about supporting Indigenous individuals, families, and communities within a primary care environment grounded in respect, cultural humility, and partnership.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat diseases, disorders, and conditions within the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice and write orders for treatment and medications.
• Monitor ongoing care, request appropriate screening and diagnostic investigations, and interpret reports to plan treatment.
• Communicate health findings, diagnoses, and priorities to patients and families; provide support and counseling.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health care providers to assess and diagnose patient status, develop and implement treatment plans, and manage admissions and discharges according to policies.
• Prescribe drugs within statutory and regulatory standards and employer policies.
• Assign and supervise nursing and health care personnel, evaluate performance, and provide education and supervision.
• Participate in research and contribute to improved patient care and population health initiatives.
• Implement screening and health promotion activities for at-risk populations.
• Engage in interdisciplinary education through case presentations, mentoring, and knowledge exchange.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing, interdisciplinary, and health system policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Recent relevant clinical nursing experience.
