Your Role

We are currently seeking a Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager to lead the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of Tetra Tech CNU’s Nuclear Quality Management System (NQMS) based out of our Pickering, ON office. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required by the position.

Reporting to the Director of Performance & Quality, the QA Manager:

  • Oversees compliance with internal procedures and external requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, CSA N299.1, CSA N286-12, CSA N286.7, ASME NQA-1, and client‑specific requirements).
  • Reviews and approves deviations from established quality requirements in alignment with client, code, and regulatory expectations.
  • Primary point of contact for quality matters with internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for effective communication, verbal and written communication regarding all matters within QA.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance quality processes, tools, and systems.
  • Lead root‑cause analyses and implement process improvements.
  • Support lessons‑learned programs to drive operational excellence.
  • Manage and responsible for the implementation NQMS and training programs.
Responsibilities
  • Supports stakeholders to ensure that processes and procedures are implemented in a uniform manner, that tools are reliable and that employees are trained to the required level of competence.
  • Be responsible to ensure that critical action plans are implemented in a timely manner, assess their efficiency and issue an alert in the event of any discrepancy.
  • Analyses the root causes and ensures that corrective measures are included in performance plans.
  • Engineering Quality Lead; Industry & Supply Chain Quality Lead; Services Quality Lead.
  • Defines, documents, and maintains Quality policies, documentation, and tools to support a team of skilled engineers, designers, procurement and construction specialists, contractors, vendors and other project support staff/stakeholders.
  • Monitor quality metrics and provide timely reporting to leadership.
  • Conducts and coordinates the annual management review of the QMS, including preparation of quality performance summaries, trends, and recommendations.
  • Oversees processes for Quality Action Requests (QARs) and related investigations. Ensures effective root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and verification of effectiveness.
  • Plans, leads, supports, and coordinates qualification, supplier, and internal audits to verify compliance with QMS, project, and regulatory requirements, including responses and follow‑up on findings and recommendations.
  • Prepares regular quality performance reports and presents key quality risks, issues, and opportunities to management and clients.
Qualifications
  • Engineering Degree or equivalent technical designation in Quality Control is preferred. Other professional qualifications will be considered with relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrates experience with quality management systems and standards such as ISO 9001; experience with nuclear QA standards (e.g., CSA N299.1, CSA N286-12, CSA N286.7, ASME NQA-1) is a strong asset.
  • Experience supporting or leading audits, managing NCRs/CARs, and driving continual improvement initiatives.
  • Effective in communicating objectives, ideas and concepts to colleagues or clients.
  • Understands the business implications of their decisions.
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance.
  • Previous experience with the energy or nuclear industry is considered an asset.
  • Willing to travel to other offices and client sites (Pickering, Mississauga, Kincardine, Bruce County) when required.

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
