Job summary

A cutting-edge automation company is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Designer to join their dynamic nuclear team in Cambridge, ON. You will work on innovative projects, performing engineering calculations and developing equipment drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Ideal candidates will have a background in Engineering and experience with mechanical design. Qualifications

  • Educational background in Engineering, Robotics or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience in mechanical design using SolidWorks or equivalent is essential.
  • Experience in an automation environment is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, N299 and NQA-1 is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations for materials strength, speeds, and force related to designs.
  • Develop equipment drawings and bills of materials using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Analyze designs for compliance with standards like OSHA and CE.
  • Communicate design changes and task progress with team leads and management.
  • Collaborate with fabricators, machinists, toolmakers and electricians to solve problems.
