A regional educational center in Nova Scotia is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students with personal care and safety management needs. Candidates should have a Human Services diploma and current CPR and First Aid training. The role involves various responsibilities including supervision and transportation of students. This is a full-time position offering wages starting at $17.66 to $24.59 per hour.
Educational Assistant 1 - Fully Qualified - $24.59 per hour
Educational Assistant 2 - Partially Qualified - $17.66 per hour
Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU) Local 73 Bargaining Unit at avrce.ca.
Educational Assistants provide support to students who are identified through the program planning process as requiring support with medical and personal care and/or safety/behavior management.
Educational Assistants may be required to accompany students or to provide transportation to students to and from school via school bus, taxi, or private vehicle in compliance with Board policy and procedures.
Educational Assistants are also expected to develop and maintain positive rapport with students.
