Job summary

Blue Mountain Plastics Recycling, part of Ice River Sustainable Solutions, is seeking an Industrial Electrician for night shift in Shelburne, Ontario. The role covers troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electrical and electromechanical systems in a highly automated environment.

The technician will work with PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, motors and sensors, contributing to preventative maintenance and plant projects. Training and safety are emphasized in a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed electrician preferred (442A or 309A).
• Apprentices with relevant experience will be considered.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial settings is asset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical and electromechanical issues on production machinery and plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot sensors, motors, VFDs, servo motors and controllers, PLC I/O cards, safety modules and other electrical components.
• Work with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial communication systems (Ethernet, AS-i Bus, PROFIBUS).
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, logic, process flow and instrumentation schematics.
• Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and tech support to resolve complex issues.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, modifications and continuous improvement projects.
• Assist with mechanical maintenance and setup/changeovers as needed.
• Identify recurring issues and develop long-term solutions with teams.
• Participate in audits, overhauls and planned maintenance activities.
• Maintain strong on-floor presence and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures.
