Job summary

Magna Exteriors in Brampton, Canada is seeking a Press Setup Technician for a 12-month contract on the night shift. You will monitor presses, ensure processes run to set-up, and deliver quality parts to customers.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, coordinating with engineers and maintenance, supporting tool and process development, and maintaining a safe, 5S workplace in line with Magna's standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in molding machine set-up
• Minimum 1 year experience with processing molding machines
• Experience as Material Handler preferred
• Experience in automotive industry an asset

Responsibilities

• Monitor all presses and ensure the processes are running to the issued set-up.
• Provide quality parts to the customer, including first off and last off evaluation and responding to quality issues.
• Troubleshoot process control problems and drive root-cause investigations.
• Ensure equipment runs properly and report issues to maintenance and tooling staff.
• Support shutdown/startup of presses and assist production as required.
• Follow part approval process for changes to the process and maintain a safe work area.
