Job summary

Phoenix Society in The Nest is seeking a Program Assistant (Part Time) to support daily operations and client services during Sunday and Monday night shifts. You will provide a range of day-to-day supports, help with life skills, information, resources, and maintain a safe, healthy environment.

The role involves medication reminders, activity supervision, documentation and collaboration with the Program Manager.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 is required.
  • Certificate in Community Social Service or equivalent is required.
  • 1 year of experience with marginalized populations, substance use services, mental health, or related fields.
  • Criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening required.
  • Tuberculosis screening required.
  • Employee Immunization Record required.
  • Nonviolent crisis intervention (NVCI) required.
  • First Aid 1 and CPR certificates required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback on clients’ needs, progress and performance.
  • Assist clients with daily living skills and life skills development.
  • Administer medications and provide reminders per policy.
  • Supervise and participate in client-focused activities and outings.
  • Identify community resources to meet clients’ needs and provide information.
  • Complete related records and documentation (logs, reports, statistics).
  • Debrief with incoming shifts to ensure smooth handovers.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy building environment.
