INNhotels 98 Geikie St, Jasper, AB—$18–$19 per hour. Temporary, seasonal, full‑time, fixed‑term contract. Shift: Night.
Job summary: At Jasper Inn & Suites, the Night Auditor is a key member of the Front Office team, overseeing overnight operations, verifying guest accounts, balancing charges and revenues, and supporting all aspects of guest services.
Job responsibilities:
- Balance credit/debit card transactions, conduct rooms audit and verify rate over‑rides; complete balance of preliminary audit; reset and backup POS system.
- Prepare Front Desk and Reconciliation report; generate night security report; reconcile daily manual postings and adjustments.
- Allocate charges according to standing procedures; prepare daily statistics report and all internal reports as required.
- Follow cash handling and posting procedures for folio charges, including corrections, with accountability for shortages/overages.
- Handle safe deposit boxes per hotel procedures; perform Front Desk duties as needed (check‑in, check‑out).
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of rooms inventory, rates, packages, promotions, discounts, and hotel PMS.
- Execute emergency procedures and act as hotel’s emergency coordinator.
- Collaborate with Housekeeping about late departures, early arrivals, and special requests; keep log book and bulletin board updated.
- Report unusual occurrences to Manager‑on‑Duty.
- Answer telephone calls courteously; manage wake‑up calls accurately.
- Maintain professional appearance and clean, orderly lobby, front desk, and back office area.
- Perform additional duties as directed by Guest Service Manager.
Qualifications:
- Customer‑service orientation with strong attention to detail; ability to work independently and in a team.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong financial acumen; ability to understand and reconcile financial data.
- Knowledge of Front Office and reservation software; Opera PMS preferred.
- Experience working overnight shifts.
- Computer skills and basic knowledge of POS, credit card terminals, electronic key system, in‑room entertainment system.
Requirements:
- Previous Front Desk and/or Customer Service experience.
- Relevant hospitality or tourism education a plus.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada long‑term before starting (no PR assistance, LMIA or sponsorship).
