Job summary

A major mining corporation in Ontario is seeking a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate for a Mechanical Maintenance role at Detour Lake Mine. This full-time position will involve assisting with maintenance tasks, engaging in safety initiatives, and supporting continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities. The work schedule is 14 days on, 14 days off, with meals and accommodations provided on-site.

Your next challenge

Reporting to the Planning & Reliability Supervisor, you will be part of the Mobile Maintenance Department. This role is specifically designed to develop the successful candidate into a licensed Professional Engineer, supporting a long‑term career at Agnico Eagle. You will support operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement while learning and growing in a dynamic mining environment.

  • Assist with daily mechanical engineering tasks related to mobile equipment maintenance, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support the planning, design, and scheduling of maintenance activities for mobile mining equipment.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering and other related disciplines to optimize maintenance performance.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and promote a culture of safety and responsibility.
  • Contribute to environmental stewardship and compliance efforts.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects and support technology adoption.
  • Learn to use mechanical engineering and maintenance management software and tools.
  • Take part in training and development opportunities to build your technical and leadership skills.
  • Benefit from mentorship and guidance to progress towards professional engineering licensure.
What you need to succeed

Your work schedule:

  • Schedule: 7/7 or 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
