Job summary

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is hiring New Graduate Clinicians to join an interprofessional care team. From Day 1 you will participate in a comprehensive nursing orientation with subspecialty training and supervised clinical practice to support your learning and career development.

You'll work on units such as 4D Heart Centre Inpatient, 5B General Surgery & Gynecology, 8A/6E Haematology/Oncology, 8B Blood & Marrow Transplant, and NICU, with a 0.8–1.0 FTE full-time schedule and

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved Baccalaureate Nursing Program and working towards CNO registration encouraged.
  • Temporary Class RN License through the College of Nurses of Ontario, and NCLEX‑RN registration within 30 days of start (90 days on second attempt).
  • Less than 1 year of clinical nursing experience in an RN capacity; if more than 1 year, apply to unit postings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusivity.

Essential Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Baccalaureate Nursing Program - recent graduates working towards CNO registration are encouraged to apply
  • Temporary Class RN License through the College of Nurses of Ontario, and registration to write the NCLEX‑RN within 30 days of your start date
    • If second attempt, registration to write the NCLEX‑RN within 90 days of your start date
  • Possess less than 1 year of clinical nursing experience in an RN capacity.
    • If more than 1 year of clinical nursing experience, please apply to ONE of our unit-specific RN postings
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use your critical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork abilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusivity
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous clinical placement experience relevant to your units of interest is strongly preferred
  • Previous clinical placement experience in paediatrics or experience working with children is strongly preferred
  • Clinical experience or clinical externship experience in an acute care hospital is strongly preferred
