Fortescue is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Services Specialist to join our Technology Operations team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of Fortescue’s enterprise network and communications infrastructure—supporting our mining, port, and corporate operations across Australia.

You will play a key part in implementing and maintaining network solutions that align with Fortescue’s technology standards, supporting our continued growth and innovation across both mining and green energy operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute as part of a collaborative team responsible for maintaining the operational health, performance, and sustainability of Fortescue’s enterprise network and communications environments.
  • Implement and configure network and security infrastructure across Fortescue’s operational sites to meet enterprise standards.
  • Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and optimisation to ensure reliable network connectivity and system resilience.
  • Participate in enterprise projects and architecture initiatives to ensure solutions are aligned with existing capabilities, are scalable, and deliver long‑term operational sustainability.
  • Support incident, problem, and change management processes in line with ITIL and Technology Operations frameworks.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in technology operations or network systems administration at an enterprise level.
  • Proven ability to support complex, high‑availability environments with multiple sites and technologies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a proactive, customer‑focused mindset.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
  • Demonstrated capability in incident, problem, and change management.
  • Deep technical knowledge and hands‑on experience with:
    • Network technologies such as MPLS, BGP, IPSec, NAT, OSPF, HSRP, VRFs, STP, WLAN
    • Cisco routing and switching platforms (Catalyst 9k, Nexus switches, ISR, and ASR routers)
    • Next‑generation firewalls and centralised security policy management
