Position Title

Network Administrator

Position Purpose

Monitor and upgrade servers in order to ensure optimal performance and uptime

Essential Functions
  • Ensure server uptime of 99.9%
  • Proactive patching of server software
  • Keeping systems current on server software releases
  • Proactively monitor system critical resources
  • Communicate and document changes
  • Effectively plan changes during off hours with contingency plans in place
  • Supporting systems during off hours
  • Establish network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols
  • Negotiating and administrating service contracts; ordering supplies and equipment; reviewing invoices for phones, printers, copiers and supplies ordered
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
