Job summary

Rooted Connections Incorporated is seeking skilled interpreters in Regina to provide interpretation services for the Newcomer Intensive Family Support Program on a contract basis.

Interpreters will work Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexible hours to meet families’ needs. Responsibilities include oral interpretation, sight translation and cross-cultural brokering in English and target languages, while maintaining ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting in cross-cultural settings.
• Ability to interpret between English and target languages.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Interpret orally and sight translate between Rooted Connections staff, other service providers and clients for in-person meetings, message relays and conference calls.
• Provide cross-cultural brokering as needed.
• Interpret impartially without adding or omitting meaning in both languages.
