The Position

On the back of securing a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Consultant to join our growing Vancouver team.

As a senior member of our team, you can expect to lead the mechanical design (HVAC and plumbing) of various small, medium and large-scale building projects. For the right candidate there is also the opportunity to take on various leadership duties within our office and contribute to our growth and success in the Vancouver market.

Who and what we’re looking for
  • Legally allowed to live and work in Canada.
  • P.Eng through EGBC highly desirable.
  • 4+ years’ experience (of which at least 5+ in Canada) in mechanical building services engineering design.
  • Established experience in across the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of relevant mechanical engineering (HVAC and plumbing) codes and standards.
  • Familiarity with typical industry software including HAP (or similar heat load program), AutoCAD, Revit.
  • Ability to independently complete engineering analysis and design of mechanical systems as well as liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ability to verify design work completed by others and provide mentoring, coaching, and training to less experienced engineers.
  • Experience with field review of mechanical and plumbing installations with the ability to defect work and provide quality inspections on behalf of NDY or the client.
  • Strong technical background that you want to continue to build on with experience across different market sectors including residential, office, education and the like.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information of a complex nature both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across multiple disciplines including colleagues and clients.
