Job Summary

Determines test equipment settings based on metal type, thickness, distance, and other variables using standard formulas.

Responsibilities
  • Calibrate test equipment such as magnetic particle, x-ray, and ultrasonic contact machines according to manual instructions.
  • Set up and conduct tests on parts following established procedures.
  • Examine surface-treated materials during penetrant and magnetic particle tests to identify cracks or defects using black light.
  • Evaluate test results against standards, applying knowledge of metals and testing experience.
  • Prepare reports outlining findings and conclusions.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform similar tests on non-metallic parts or structures as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of aviation NDT experience.
  • Solid experience in Ultrasonic (Level 2 preferred, minimum thickness) and Eddy Current Level 2 testing (practical hours completed).
  • Knowledge of other NDT methods (Level 2) is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to use a wide range of tools and instruments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Good eyesight and color vision.
  • Understanding of health and safety issues.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Availability to work flexible hours.
