Job summary

Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. is seeking a proactive training leader to manage the analysis, design, development, scheduling, integration, and delivery of naval training products for RC Navy and partner fleets.

The role utilizes Naval SMEs to advise and deliver portions of operations and warfare training across domains, in collaboration with synthetic trainers and customer stakeholders. You will lead a multidisciplinary training team, report to local and IPT leaders, and ensure training content

Qualifications

• Navy Operations Room Officer and/or Warfare Director equivalent qualifications; experience with Sea Training Staff or Warfare Centre is an asset.
• Experience with Lockheed Martin CMS 330.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with nine years of professional experience.

Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) has a requirement to support tactical and operational training roles responsible for leading and overseeing the analysis, design, development, scheduling, integration, and delivery of training products and services across our current and future domestic and international programs, including Naval Warfare Officer and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Professional training in support of Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and other Navies Force Generation. This role will employ Naval Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to advise, develop, and deliver portions of Naval Operations and Warfare training, across all warfare domains, in collaboration with synthetic trainers for the Combat System scope of all sustainment programs. This includes leading members of the technical training team while working across discipline and product teams, as well with key customer stakeholder groups to ensure that delivered training solutions meet the high standards and specific needs of the customer. This position will also fill multi-domain Primary Warfare Commander positions in the simulation environment as required. The position will report functionally to local leaders as well as technically to a coastal training lead, and Training Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads. The ideal candidate is proactive, dynamic and motivated to shape training solutions through robust engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Plans, develops, and implements technical product training programs for customers, and/or employees, and field support personnel. Technical training may include standard, repeatable modules, customized and new product modules. Obtains information from customer and technical organizations, engineering, software and product requirements to prepare training programs; prepares lesson plans and training materials; designs product demonstrations; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions, product demonstrations, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. May administer tests. Continuously revises lesson plans to ensure course material reflect product features, meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date. May include military trainers.

Basic Qualifications

• Navy Operations Room Officer and/or Warfare Director equivalent qualifications; experience with Sea Training Staff, Fleet Staff, Warfare Centre, or warfare training establishments is an asset
• Experience with Lockheed Martin Combat Management System (CMS) 330
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education with nine (9) years of professional experience
• Ability to instruct and mentor Naval Warfare Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) Operators in a broad spectrum of naval operations

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with RCN current and future ship platforms
• Familiarity with maritime Combat Systems, including Radars, CMSs, Communications, Weapons, Navigation, Electronic Warfare, Cyber, Remote Vehicles, Underwater Sensors
• Joint Command and Staff Program (Staff College equivalent) and/or CAF Operational Planning Certification, and/or Intermediate Leadership Qualification (ILQ)/Advanced Leadership Qualification (ALQ) is considered an asset
• Familiarity with the synthetic training environment and advanced training
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
• An ability to work independently and proactively to meet team, program and customer needs
• Collaborative spirit to work effectively with customer Senior leadership
• Innovative thinking to bring new ideas and improvements to the program

• Ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
