Locations: Halifax or Victoria
Work Arrangement: On-Site - Hybrid

Purpose of Role: As a Naval Architecture Technologist, you will contribute to engineering projects focusing on testing, evaluation, and maintenance activities. Under general supervision, you will help ensure the operational readiness of Canada’s naval assets, gain hands-on experience, and prepare detailed reports to inform critical decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing and trials onboard ships or submarines
  • Perform technical investigations and review documentation on systems and equipment
  • Validate, test, simulate, and troubleshoot new equipment or systems
  • Prepare plans, designs, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Support team members in project execution
  • Maintain attention to detail and meet project deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Produce technical reports for review
  • Comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and zero harm behaviors

Qualifications:

  • Completed a 3-year Naval Architectural Diploma program with practical experience
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex information
  • Project management skills for planning and tracking tasks (if applicable)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings, and write technical reports
  • Canadian citizenship and residency of 10+ years in Canada, with no long absences, to obtain security clearance
