Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel Canada is seeking a National Sea Logistics Development Manager, Export, to drive strategy, development, and growth of our national export program.

This highly visible role sits at the intersection of sales, trade management, pricing, carrier partnerships, and customer engagement, with responsibility for identifying new opportunities, strengthening strategic relationships, and enhancing our position across Canada's export landscape.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Sea Logistics, Ocean Freight, or International Transportation.
• Deep knowledge of Canadian export markets, commodities, trade lanes, carrier networks, and intermodal transportation solutions.
• Proven track record of driving export programs and identifying new market opportunities.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to understand customer supply chains and develop value-driven solutions.
• Established relationships with ocean carriers, transportation providers, customers, and industry stakeholders.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams and senior leadership groups.
• Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills across all levels of an organization.
• Strategic mindset to translate market trends and industry developments into actionable opportunities.
• Credibility to act as a trusted advisor on all export logistics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the national export growth strategy for Canada.
• Serve as the organization's SME for export ocean freight and containerized cargo across Canadian markets.
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities that drive export volume growth, profitability, and customer retention.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with ocean carriers, rail providers, customers, industry partners, and overseas stakeholders.
• Partner with Sales, Pricing, Trade Management, and Customer Care teams to deliver competitive and innovative customer solutions.
• Provide market intelligence, trade lane insights, and industry expertise to support business development initiatives and commercial decision‑making.
• Represent Kuehne+Nagel at customer meetings, industry events, and strategic business reviews to strengthen brand presence.
• Collaborate across the global network to align export initiatives and support sustainable long‑term growth.
• Drive a culture of customer excellence by helping customers navigate complex export supply chain challenges and opportunities.

The target base salary range for this position is between CAD $110,000 and $140,000. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
