Job description

About the position :

Our family is looking for a day mom to care for our four children, in our home, on a part‑time basis. We are located in the Village of New Maryland.

Duties and expectations :

All duties and expectations in the home will be child focused.

• Meal preparation and clean‑up: breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
• Assisting the children in getting dressed and making sure they have put their dirty clothes in the appropriate area.
• Reminding the children to clean up their toys throughout the day and providing them with some direction in this area.
• Balancing indoor and outdoor time when the weather is agreeable. Outdoor time may include playing on the deck or in the yard, and / or going for walks in the neighbourhood.
• Reading stories with the children.
• Crafts and colouring / drawing.
• A driver's license and / or personal transportation is required to travel to and from our home, however, you will not be expected or required to transport the children.

Additional information :

• Salary negotiable
• I work part‑time as a speech‑language pathologist. My current work schedule is Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and half days on Thursdays. We can likely accommodate other availability, though would prefer to keep this schedule.
• We occasionally have a family member living with us. This family member would come and go throughout the day, and would likely help out during the day when they are here, however, their help and availability should not be expected.
• We are a gluten‑free household due to Celiac Disease. Our pantry and fridge are well stocked, and you are invited to eat whatever is available. Inform us of any allergies and we can accommodate.
• Occasionally I will be working from home or come home part way through the day, providing virtual sessions to clients from our home office.
• We do require child care throughout the summer, however, time off can be arranged with appropriate notice.
• We are a French‑English bilingual household.
• Recent criminal record and vulnerable person check preferred.
