A childcare service provider in North Vancouver is seeking an experienced caregiver/teacher for their 3 ½-year-old son with autism. The role includes attending therapy sessions, implementing therapeutic play, and collaborating with health professionals. The position offers a salary range of $35–$45/hr based on experience and a minimum contract of 1 ½ years with guaranteed hours and paid vacation.
We are a working professional couple located in central Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. We split our work hours between home and downtown, Vancouver.
We are looking for an experienced superstar teacher / caregiver for our 3 ½-year-old son who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at 12 months old and is now considered high‑functioning.
• Attend home and drive to therapy sessions.
• Implement therapy with him throughout the day through play.
• Collaborate with the therapy team (Behavioural Consultant, Speech and Language Pathologist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist).
• Clean up after playing and meals/snacks, and cook lunch for our son occasionally.
• Experienced in teaching through interactive play with a child on the autism spectrum.
• Motivated, committed, creative, warm, and fun.
• Own reliable vehicle; driving to preschool and therapy sessions required.
• Fully vaccinated; parents are fully vaccinated.
• Team player able to carry out treatment plans as an extension of the therapy team.
• Salary range $35‑$45 gross per hour, based on experience.

• Job‑broad training and education through a behavioural consultant, speech and language pathologist, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist.
• Mileage provided for driving.
• Minimum 1 ½ year contract, full‑time 42‑47.5 hour periods with paid vacation.
From April 2024 until mid‑June 2024 (42.5 hours/week):
From mid‑June 2024 to September 2024 (47.5 hours/week):
From September 2024 to mid‑June 2025 (34 hours/week):
Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break (47.5 hours/week):
Combined annual hours expected to be approximately 2025 hours, which includes two weeks paid vacation.
Annual salary range is $73,000 to $94,000, based on experience.
