Job description

We are looking for a live‑out nanny to provide childcare in our home in Midhurst, Ontario. We have two children – a 6‑year‑old daughter and a son who will be celebrating his second birthday at the beginning of October. The primary responsibility of the position will be providing care for our son.

We will require consistent availability, either full time for 32 to 40 hours per week or part‑time for 24 hours per week. Hours will generally be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

On days that our daughter is not at school, care for both children will be required. There will be no additional compensation on these days.

We live in Midhurst, approximately a 5‑ to 10‑minute drive from the north end of Barrie. We are not easily accessible by transit, so a car is required for a live‑out position.

Responsibilities

• Play with our son indoors and outdoors
• Tidy rooms after playtime
• Prepare and feed our son snacks and meals
• Perform light housework, including laundry
• Help in the kitchen: washing dishes, putting dishes away, family meal prep

Requirements

• Consistent availability: 32–40 hours per week (full time) or 24 hours per week (part time)
• CPR and first aid training strongly preferred
• Flu and COVID‑19 vaccinations required
• Salary negotiable, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Background

Our daughter had the same nanny from the age of 13 months to 3.5 years. They developed a strong bond and spent many hours together walking through Midhurst, playing at local playgrounds, reading books, doing pretend play, and developing basic skills. We believe this had a strong, positive impact on our daughter’s development and we wish for our son to have a similar opportunity.
