Job summary

University of Manitoba invites applications for a Sessional Instructor in Musicianship 2 (MUSC 1394 A01). The role runs January 1 to April 30, 2027 with a total appointment pay rate of $4,436.00. Responsibilities include preparing materials, teaching, grading, and maintaining office hours, under the UM/CUPE 3909 agreement.

English proficiency and teaching competence are required. Master's or PhD candidate preferred; experience in post-secondary instruction is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree, Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English.
• Background in the subject area required.
• Demonstrated competence in post-secondary teaching.
• Empathetic approach to instructional needs of students.
• Previous teaching in the subject area an asset.

Responsibilities

• Preparing instructional and testing materials relevant to the course.
• Instructing/teaching/testing.
• Marking/grading of exams and assignments.
• Providing constructive feedback to students.
• Maintaining regular office hours.
