JOB DESCRIPTION

Based in Montréal and reporting to Ubisoft’s International Headquarters, you will join the Ubisoft Music team, whichoperatesfrom Montréal, Paris, and Shanghai.Thisteambringstogethermusic supervision, musiclicensing,publishing, andartisticpartnershipsacrossthecompany.

Youwillbepart of theLicensingdivision,whosemissionistointegratethe bestsongsand musictracksintotheheartofUbisoft’sexperiences!

WorkingalongsidetheexistingMusicLicensingSpecialists, youwillberesponsibleforcoordinatingthe acquisition of musiclicensesandensuringsmoothexecutionacrossawidevarietyofprojects, inalignmentwith the musicalneedsofUbisoft’steams.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Collaboratecloselywith musiclicensingspecialiststounderstandtheirneedsandbudgets, andsharemusicresearchwithexternalpartners.
  • Identifyrightsholders(publishersand record labels)of musicalworks, draftlicensingproposals, andmanagethe process from initialoutreachto final agreement.
  • Trackreceivedagreementsandlicensingterms, andgatherallrelatedmaterials(audio files, lyrics,credits).
  • Buildtrustedrelationshipswithinternalstakeholders (legal, marketing, production) andexternalpartners(labels,publishers), andsuggestnewcollaboratorswhenrelevant.
  • Ensureaccuratearchivingoflicensesininternaltrackingtools, andcoordinatewith the administrativecoordinatorto supportpaymentprocessingandcontractfinalization.
QUALIFICATIONS

Tothriveinthisrole, youbringpriorexperiencein asimilarpositionwithinthe musicindustry(record label, musicpublisher,rightsmanagement), thevideogameindustry, or arelatedfield(TV, film, etc.),ideallyinaninternationalenvironment. Youhave:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of copyright related to music publishing and recording.
  • Excellentinterpersonaland communicationskills,enablingyou to engageconfidentlywith stakeholders at alllevels.
  • Autonomy, attention todetail, and a proactivemindset, with theabilitytocontributemeaningfulideasto theteam.
  • Robustproject managementskills,includingtheabilitytojugglemultipleprojects,bringstructure andorganization, and encourage collaboration.
  • Solution-orientedthinking, withresiliencein the face of challenges and change.
  • Fluencyin English,bothwrittenandspoken, essential for international collaboration.
  • Agenuineinterestinvideogamesand productionenvironmentsisa plus.
