Job summary

A municipal government in Iqaluit is looking for a part-time Municipal Services Truck Driver. This role involves safely operating trucks to provide essential services. Municipal Services Truck Driver – Part Time

Location (English): Iqaluit

Department: Public Works

Status: Part‑time permanent

Salary: $33.58 per annum to start

Settlement Allowance: $10.05 per hour

Union Status: Unionized

Reporting to: Municipal Services Foreman. Municipal Services Truck Driver is responsible for the safe operation of municipal services vehicles to ensure timely delivery of services to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate municipal service trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Deliver services throughout various locations, including areas with sewage/waste odors.
  • Follow delivery schedules and maintain vehicle maintenance records.
  • Work under time constraints and assist co‑workers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Sufficient education/training (equivalent to Grade 10).
  • Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform duties safely and quickly.
  • Willingness to work weekends and extra hours to complete delivery schedules.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and within a team atmosphere.
  • Previous experience working in a Municipality.
