Open Systems Technologies in Mississauga, Canada, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support Python-based applications and enterprise integrations.
You will build REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures using Kafka/MQ, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments. You will contribute to Agentic AI workflows and MCP-enabled components, with a focus on security and reliability. A STEM degree and 8+ years of experience are required.
Design, develop, test, and support Python-based applications and services.
Build and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations.
Contribute to development of Agentic AI workflows and MCP-enabled application components.
Implement integrations between AI models, enterprise systems, and business applications.
Develop reusable services and components following enterprise engineering standards.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
Implement monitoring, logging, and operational controls to ensure service reliability.
Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks.
Work with messaging and event-streaming technologies to support asynchronous processing.
Collaborate with business and technology teams to analyze requirements and develop technical solutions.
Support issue resolution, performance tuning, and application enhancements.
Document technical designs, implementation details, and operational procedures.
Follow established security, governance, and risk management standards.
Role 1: Senior
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related STEM field.
2-5 years of experience developing applications using Python.
Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices development.
Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms.
Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python frameworks.
Knowledge of SQL and database technologies.
Familiarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
Experience working in Linux environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Exposure to Agentic AI frameworks, MCP, LLMs, and GenAI solutions.
Familiarity with Kafka, MQ, or event-streaming platforms.
Experience with cloud platforms and container technologies.
Banking, risk management, or financial services experience.
Understanding of distributed systems, observability, and platform monitoring.
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience in a STEM-related field. Advanced degree preferred.
