Job summary

CBC Calgary is seeking a Video Journalist for English Services. You will craft multi-platform stories, shoot and edit content with strong journalistic judgment, and develop original treatments for social, streaming, online, TV and radio platforms.

The role emphasizes Calgary-focused storytelling and a dynamic on-air presence, with shift work including weekends. Applicants should have a relevant degree, 5+ years' related experience, and proficiency with Avid editing and broadcast cameras.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years directly related experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience using Avid systems for non-linear editing.
• Minimum 2 years experience using broadcast cameras.

Responsibilities

• Research, gather, package and present media for CBC’s platforms (social, streaming, TV, radio).
• Operate independently or with a program unit under direction of the Executive Producer.
• Adhere to CBC journalistic policies while applying initiative and creativity.
• Work a variety of shifts, including weekends, often under tight deadlines.
