Position Summary

The MRO Buyer is responsible for processing Purchase Orders and related documentation in a timely manner to ensure uninterrupted MRO supply across all plant location while accurately completing transactions in Oracle to maintain data integrity. The successful incumbent will maintain clear and consistent communication with suppliers to ensure they have the necessary information to effectively support New Flyer\'s operational requirements.

What you will do
  • Accurately complete daily workload on time to support plant operations
  • Process Consumable Spot Buy Requisitions and Purchase Orders promptly; obtain competitive quotes and monitor supplier confirmations
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and internal customers
  • Resolve supplier issues and expedite items as needed; escalate concerns for visibility
  • Address Pricing, Matching Holds, 2-Way Holds, Unordered Receipts, Variances, and related documentation issues
  • Maintain Oracle MRO Supplier Database and manage Blanket Purchase Orders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete tasks, resolve issues, and support process improvements
  • Perform administrative tasks related to documentation preparation, filing, and storage in a timely manner
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Strategic Sourcing Manager
  • Support cost reduction initiatives within the supply base
  • Assist in negotiating MRO contracts and agreements with vendors
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor\'s degree in Business (or equivalent), education in Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Experience with purchasing processes and procedures
  • Planning experience in a manufacturing environment with basic knowledge of MRP systems considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time and workload effectively in a fast paced environment
