Job description

This is a union position located at our Calgary MRF.

Starting Wage: $31.79/hr + $1.50/h for Lead Hand. Shift: M-F, 7:30-4 PM

Job Summary

Sets-up and operates a wide variety of equipment, especially the 4‑wheel loader and the skid steer, and performs work per specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates equipment in compliance with the company operating procedure.
• Verifies that equipment is in working order, e.g., tooling, safety mechanisms.
• Moves and positions raw materials and finished components with use of material moving equipment.
• May provide assistance and direction to less experienced equipment operators as needed.
• Performs daily maintenance and cleaning activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory duties.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: 2 years relevant experience, especially with loaders and forklifts.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid Canadian SIN.
• Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required: None required.

Work Environment

Requirements:

• Motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the work day.
• Exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds, rarely.
• Expose to physical occupational risks (cut, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.), rarely.
• Expose to physical environment involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements, rarely.
• Normal setting: shop or field.
