Job summary

Big White Ski Resort is seeking a Mountain Photographer to capture compelling photography and video content on-mountain and in-village for social, web, and campaigns. You will plan shoots in line with weekly calendars, collaborate with the Marketing team on shot lists and events, and coordinate with athletes and staff to ensure consent and smooth production.

Applicants should demonstrate strong Lightroom/Photoshop skills, camera proficiency, and ability to work in varied alpine conditions.

Description

The Role

  • Capture daily photo and video b-roll content on-mountain and in-village (powder days, park laps, family moments, après, events) for social, web, and campaigns.
  • Plan and shoot content in line with weekly content calendars and campaign needs.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to support specific initiatives: shot lists, partner campaigns, news release media, event recaps, brand storytelling.
  • Coordinate with athletes, instructors, staff, and guests for lifestyle and action shoots, ensuring consent and releases are handled appropriately when necessary.
  • Maintain and organize footage, project files, and simple naming systems in alignment with department expectations.
  • Represent Big White professionally on and off the hill, always putting guest experience and safety first.

What We’re Looking For

  • Creative Vision – Tells compelling visual stories through photography that align with the brand tone, campaign goals, and seasonal priorities. Proactively develops new content ideas and identifies opportunities to capture engaging photography and video.
  • Technical Proficiency – Demonstrates advanced proficiency in photography, lighting, post-production, and photo editing using Lightroom and Photoshop, with the ability to capture and edit video content using Premiere Pro as required.
  • Organizational Excellence – Uploads, archives, organizes, and supplies assets as required, following established filing systems and workflows.
  • Adaptability in Conditions – Able to shoot high-quality photos in the varied weather, terrain, and lighting conditions typical of alpine environments. Proactively identifies alternative content opportunities.
  • Collaborative Mindset – Supports the content needs and priorities of the Marketing team whilst developing and maintain positive working relationships with departments across the resort.
  • Deadline Management – Prioritizes and delivers content according to project needs. Keeps the team informed of delivery timelines, project status, and any potential delays.People Skills – Works professionally and respectfully with talent, guests, and internal staff to direct shoots and capture natural moments.
  • Brand Stewardship – Maintains brand consistency and understands how visuals influence perception and emotion. Represents the brand professionally by wearing approved staff uniform and a nametag.
  • Safety Awareness – Follows all mountain safety protocols and demonstrates sound judgement when working in alpine environments. Is experienced skiing or snowboarding on blue and black terrain while safely carrying photography and video equipment.
  • Project Coordination – Plans, schedules, and delivers larger seasonal or campaign-based shoots, working independently or collaboratively as required. Coordinates timelines, locations, talent, equipment, and other production needs to ensure shoots run smoothly.
  • Video – The Mountain Photographer is expected to capture supporting video content as required. This will often involve capturing footage alongside photography shoots for use across social media, campaigns, and other marketing channels, with light editing in Premiere Pro when needed.
  • Equipment – Uses their own professional photography and video equipment and is fully confident operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting it in a range of mountain conditions. Approved equipment used for work purposes will be insured by Big White Ski Resort.

The Details

  • Hourly wage from $27-34/hour based on experience.
  • Winter 2026/2027 seasonal role.
  • Target start date: mid-November 2026.
  • Full time (32-40 hours per week).
