About the role

We’re looking for a trade-qualified Motor Assessor with hands‑on experience in panel beating, spray painting, or mechanical repairs (Cert III or equivalent). You’ll use your technical knowledge and strong customer skills to assess vehicle damage, prepare accurate repair quotes, and negotiate settlements.

What you’ll do
  • Negotiate with repairers to achieve the best repair method, cost, and quality outcomes
  • Assess vehicles on‑road and via desktop using Suncorp’s assessing frameworks
  • Manage escalations and disputes, ensuring timely and fair resolutions
  • Conduct reinspection, audits, and quality checks to maintain repair standards
  • Support customers through repair, write‑off, and settlement processes
What you’ll bring
  • Trade qualification (Cert III) in panel beating, spray painting, or mechanics or equivalent experience as a Motor Assessor
  • A minimum of 3 years’ post‑trade qualification experience
  • Proven experience in quote writing and assessing/estimating skills
  • Knowledge of repair methods, insurance codes, and compliance
