Sony Pictures Imageworks is searching for highly motivated, creative motion graphics artists to join our Environments team. At SPI you will have an opportunity to work on a range of exciting AAA animated feature films and live‑action VFX projects.

Job Description

Under the guidance of your Motion Graphics Supervisor, you will create sophisticated motion graphics in a broad range of styles for use in diverse contexts.

You might be called to make motion graphics for contexts including:

  • Comic book elements (panels, speech bubbles, chibis)
  • And much, much more!
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in fine art, or a diploma or certificate from a recognized school of animation, visual effects, or graphic design AND
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in VFX or animated feature films.
  • Good knowledge of graphic design techniques and styles using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience in After Effects expressions is also a big plus.
  • Good general knowledge of 3D modelling, shading, animation and rendering, as applied to motion graphics.
  • A good understanding of fundamental visual principles, including perspective, composition, form, value, and color – and the ability to apply them consistently.
  • Basic understanding of compositing in VFX and animation production.
  • Please note that you must be able to provide a demo reel that illustrates your relevant artistic and technical experience.

  • Working knowledge of Linux.

The anticipated base salary for an Intermediate position is $37.50 - $53.80/hr. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
