Who We Are

NCSY, a project of the Orthodox Union, connects with Jewish teens through innovative, cutting-edge social and recreational programs to develop a positive Jewish identity. NCSY Inspires Jewish teens and their connection to Israel through informal Jewish education, retreats and summer programs. NCSY empowers teens through leadership development and guidance to become passionately committed leaders of the Jewish community and instruments for positive change and renewal. NCSY is the premier organization dedicated to connect, inspire and empower Jewish teens and encourage passionate Judaism through Torah and Tradition.

The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

About the Role

NCSY Canada is seeking a passionate and driven leader to serve as the Montreal City Director. In this role, you will inspire Jewish teens, strengthen community connections, and shape the future of Jewish life in Montreal through dynamic programs, partnerships, and mentorship.

This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on building relationships, running impactful programs, and working at the intersection of community, education, and outreach.

Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Part‑Nnerships
  • Drive NCSY Montreal’s growth, impact, and strategic goals.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, community members, and local leaders.
  • Identify and develop new partnerships, program locations, and volunteer networks.
  • Represent NCSY Montreal at community events, schools, and meetings.
  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to support donor engagement and campaigns (e.g., NCSY Giving Day).
Teen Programming
  • Jewish Student Union (JSU) Clubs: Lead and expand school‑based clubs (up to 5 days/week), recruit students, develop teen leadership, and transition participants into broader NCSY programs.
  • Learn & Earn: Oversee or support three weekly programs, including recruitment, logistics, and weekly learning sessions.
  • General Engagement: Plan and run monthly social events, Shabbatons, and holiday programming. Host students for monthly Shabbat meals.
  • Summer & Travel Programs: Recruit for NCSY Canada summer experiences, including participation on the NCSY TJJ Israel trip.
Shabbat & Alumni Engagement
  • Assist in planning monthly Shabbat engagement opportunities (dinners, onegs, learning programs) for high‑school students and alumni.
  • Partner with the Director of Impact to track and mentor high‑potential students (e.g., gap‑year in Israel candidates).
Events & Regional Involvement
  • Actively participate in all three annual Regional Shabbatons and Montreal‑based events.
  • Execute assigned leadership and logistics roles during these immersive experiences.
Administration & Professional Development
  • Maintain accurate records, attendance, and program databases.
  • Contribute content for newsletters, marketing, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities.
