Job summary

Horizon Health Network invites applications for the Moncton Medical Laboratory Technologist 2 (LT02) position in Hematology at The Moncton Hospital. This permanent part-time role (0.5 FTE) offers day, evening, night and weekend shifts with rotation.

English required; salary ranges from CAD 35.64 to CAD 44.52 per hour, depending on experience. The successful candidate will perform routine and specialized lab procedures, manage specimen collection, report results, and participate in quality

Qualifications

• Requires graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program with active license in good standing.
• Regular attendance and ability to perform duties in a lab environment.
• Compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens for testing.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures.
• Validate and report test results in the LIS system.
• Operate, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct quality control and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Provide guidance, training and orientation to staff as needed.

JOB PURPOSE

The Medical Laboratory Technologist 2 is responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory procedures according to prescribed policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Laboratory Technology, holding a practicing (non-temporary) license and in good standing with the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
