Job summary

The Vancouver Island Health Authority, Victoria Johnson Street Health Centre, seeks a Peer Support Worker to join a multidisciplinary team delivering compassionate, client-centered services for individuals facing homelessness, psychiatric disability, and substance use issues.

You will apply lived experience to support recovery, deliver education programs, and help clients build independence while following safety and documentation standards. Some site travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Past or current recipient of mental health and/or substance abuse services.
• Experience in social services, supported housing/addictions/Public Health.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.
• Experience working with adults and youth with mental health or substance use issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support services with a multidisciplinary team.
• Support clients with histories of homelessness, psychiatric disability, or substance use.
• Assist with transportation as required.
