Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mining Technical Lead to drive the evolution of Applied Solutions services across Canada. You will bring deep expertise in mining construction, lead complex projects, mentor engineers, and help expand WSP’s mining market presence in Canada.

You will oversee delivery from concept through construction, ensuring safety, quality, and budget targets while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in mining, geotechnical or civil engineering or construction.
• At least 5 years focused on mining projects.
• Experience delivering mining projects across varying site conditions and project types.
• Familiarity with the Canadian mining market and regulatory environment.
• P.Eng. designation in British Columbia (or eligibility to obtain) preferred.

The Skills That Set You Apart

• 15+ years of experience in mining, geotechnical or civil engineering or construction, including at least 5 years focused on mining projects.
• Proven experience delivering completed mining projects across varying site conditions and project types
• Understanding of mine closure, mine stability, tailings, mine waste & water management.
• Experience working executing construction in an EPCM, CM or prime contractor model.
• Demonstrated leadership in technical review, design oversight, and project execution
• Familiarity with the Canadian mining market, including client landscape and regulatory environment
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia (or eligibility to obtain) strongly preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence clients and multidisciplinary teams

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $162,200 - $212,200

MB & ON: $148,000 - $198,000

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $146,500 - $194,600
