Job summary

North American Construction Group (NACG) is seeking a Site Trainer to support our Fort Hills site. This role ensures operational competency training through practical and classroom sessions, mentoring and evaluations, driving safety and performance at a mining site.

The position requires 5+ years of mining-operating experience and 1+ year on excavators, graders, and haul trucks, with strong coaching, communication, and LMS/Office skills.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of operating experience in a mining environment.
  • 1+ years of operating experience on large and small Excavator, Crawler Tractor, Motor Grader and Haul Truck in a mining environment.
  • Experience with supervision, Lead Hand, or related coaching roles.
  • Post secondary education considered an asset.
  • Registered Professional Trainer designation considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all site personnel complete required training (CBLs, client training, SOP reviews, and manufacturer training).
  • Conduct equipment training and complete competency evaluations; assist in maintenance training as needed.
  • Follow up on operator abuse issues and provide coaching recommendations.
  • Ensure the company training program is implemented and followed at the site.
  • Maintain onboarding logs and update crew designations weekly; submit weekly reports.
  • Utilize the LMS for theory delivery, record keeping, and training reports.
