Job summary

A governmental resource management agency in Yukon is looking for a permanent full-time role focused on research and analysis related to mineral policy and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in natural resource management or a related field, and experience in policy development. Job Summary And Requirements

This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly. This position may be located in various locations in Yukon Territory.

The Mineral Resources Branch regulates exploration and mining activity with the goal of encouraging responsible development and a sustainable industry in Yukon. As a member of the Mineral Resources team, reporting to the Strategic Policy Advisor, this position is responsible for research, analysis, evaluation and advice related to the development and monitoring of mineral policy, procedures, legislation and regulations in the Yukon and provision of policy on mineral management and development issues for department managers and staff.

Essential Qualifications

  • Diploma, degree or certificate in natural resource management, public administration, or a related field;
  • Experience completing research and analysis to produce papers, policies, reports and briefing materials;
  • Experience analyzing policy issues and providing recommendations and policy actions;
  • Experience in policy development and legislative processes, preferably in a government setting;
  • Experience working with the Yukon mining regulatory and assessment processes and the requirements under the Yukon Umbrella Final Agreement and Yukon First Nation Agreements would be an asset.

Candidates who have a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
