An exciting position has become available for a Process Engineer to join our Metals Business in the Minerals Processing practice. Become part of a global team of innovative and trusted professionals who provide process engineering input to the different business sectors within a Consulting Engineering environment. This is a full-time position based in Vancouver. Experience in base and precious metal concentrator design would be beneficial, i.e. Copper, Lead, Zinc, PGMs and /or Gold.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop process engineering deliverables on mineral processing projects, i.e. Process Design Criteria, Mass and Water Balance, Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment Sizing, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Equipment Sizing, Design Calculations, Process Description and Process Control Philosophy.
  • Prepare process equipment functional specification and process datasheets.
  • Actively engage with clients to understand project requirements.
  • Develop process scope definition and technology selection.
  • Perform trade-off studies to select preferred process options.
  • Review, interpret, identify, scope and manage metallurgical test work.
  • Conduct capacity analysis for existing plants.
  • Provide training, guidance and supervision to junior colleagues.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Provide input to capital cost estimates.
  • Contribute to hazard studies.
  • Participate or lead process plant commissioning.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and proposal preparation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical or Mineral Processing Engineering degree.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Pro-active, shows initiative and leadership.
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and keep in balance multiple priorities.
  • Ability to interact at all organizational levels in an organization, both internally and externally.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
