Overview

Mine Maintenance Planner - (14427)

Mobile Maintenance Planner develops, implements, coordinates and monitors mobile maintenance plans in order of priority for preventative, equipment overhaul, backlog, and ad-hoc maintenance work activities. The Mobile Maintenance Planner incorporates mobile asset strategies and enhances planning processes to improve service quality, data accuracy, efficiency, and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Area 1: Plan and release work orders (task list, SOPs, permits, resourcing, BOM, tools, equipment, costs, preliminary work, scheduling date) following IAMGOLD Maintenance Work Process Standards. Create and distribute a weekly resource-based schedule. Plan and release long-term PCR work orders including future parts reservations, parts kits, and components. Prepare equipment PCR project work packages with proper scope identification and coordinate with the scheduler for PCR milestones. Develop work packages detailing task conditions, constraints, hazard controls, permits, labor, equipment, materials, services, test and handover procedures, durations, sequencing, and timing. Record maintenance activities and verify data in Oracle eAM (CMMS) to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Address planning issues (operational requirements, parts availability, equipment deficiencies, procedures, data accuracy). Update maintenance planning documents with supervisor and crew feedback and data from completed work orders (work packages, checklists, asset register, BOM). Develop standard activity and BOM for recurring preventive and corrective work. Work within budgets and escalate if exceeded. Determine warranty considerations. Interface with other departments and external stakeholders. Review weekly maintenance schedule compliance and KPI performance.
  • Area 2: Operational excellence. Comply with IAMGOLD asset management process and quality standards; safe work practices, policies and processes; commit to continuous learning and improvement; seek to improve skills; collaborate to troubleshoot and resolve problems; consider risk across throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost; review KPI performance and non-conformances and develop corrective actions.
  • Area 3: Collaborate to deliver operational reliability. Coordinate with on-site teams to meet shift deliverables; participate in weekly scheduling meetings; support team with expertise; facilitate outsourced maintenance repair requests; communicate clearly; ensure deficiencies are followed up; participate in multidisciplinary teams to support communities, environment and shareholders; work with operations to select equipment with appropriate design parameters.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves

  • College diplomas or university degree in a related maintenance field is preferred.
  • Trade Certification or equivalent professional experience in maintenance, with mechanical, welding or electrical experience preferred.

Work experience - Nature & Length

  • 5+ years of experience in a mobile maintenance related trade.
  • 1+ years of planning & scheduling experience in asset management in large open pit mining operations, mineral processing plants or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Oracle eAM or similar).
  • Experience with maintenance of heavy mobile equipment (e.g., Caterpillar models) is desirable.
  • Proven communication skills (verbal, written, non-verbal).
  • Understand efficiency drivers in a mining operation.
  • Lean and multidisciplinary team leadership experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail; able to work with minimal supervision; strong time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Judgement within broadly defined practices to obtain results; ability to make effective decisions under pressure; ability to prepare accurate records and reports; ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of local legislation; familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Programs; exposure to project management tools and techniques; experience with short- and long-range maintenance planning.
