Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, you will coordinate with technical services, operations, and geology teams to develop practical, achievable schedules that integrate development and production requirements. This role focuses on ensuring operational plans remain aligned with business objectives while adapting to changing geological information, resource updates, and operational priorities. • Coordinate mid-range planning activities by incorporating development, infrastructure, maintenance, and construction requirements while ensuring consistency across short-, medium-, and long-term planning horizons.
  • Partner with operations, geology, survey, and technical services personnel to produce practical, executable mine plans and provide engineering support for day-to-day mining activities.
  • Evaluate alternative mining strategies through scenario modelling, risk assessments, and trade-off analyses to improve operational performance, productivity, and resource utilization.
  • Prepare planning reports, production reconciliations, and variance analyses, while supporting budgeting processes and contributing to life-of-mine planning, capital project evaluations, and technical studies, including economic assessments.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior technical staff, including engineers, survey personnel, and drill and blast planners, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.
Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency with mine planning and scheduling software such as Deswik or comparable industry applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple assignments and adapt effectively within a dynamic mining operation.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
  • Comfortable working in a combination of office and underground mining environments, with regular site exposure.
