Job summary

Crown Holdings, Inc. is seeking a skilled Millwright to perform complex PMs and major overhauls on can‑making equipment.

You will diagnose breakdowns, perform precise mechanical work, and coordinate with electricians for safe repairs in a high-speed manufacturing setting. The role requires a licensed Millwright or Machinist with 3–5 years of maintenance experience, strong reading of drawings, and proficiency with digital work orders (Emaint).

Qualifications

  • Licensed Industrial Millwright and/or Machinist (Red Seal or equivalent) required.
  • 3-5 years’ hands-on maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing (high-speed preferred).
  • Strong mechanical fundamentals: bearings, lubrication, drives, gearboxes, pneumatics/hydraulics, alignment, precision measurement, and rigging.
  • Practical fabrication/repair skills: welding, drilling, grinding, and use of shop equipment; manual machining (lathe, drill press, mills) is an asset.
  • Able to read/interpret drawings and document work clearly.
  • Basic electrical/controls awareness to support safe troubleshooting coordination.
  • Committed to safety, procedures, and continuous improvement.
  • Proficient with digital systems for work orders and parts (e.g., Emaint).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Electricians/Controls, recognizing when support is required for safe, efficient repairs.
  • Work with Planning and Stores to review jobs, confirm parts/tools, and improve work packages.
  • Use eMaint to manage work orders, record work and measurements, and maintain accurate parts transactions.
  • Escalate equipment, safety, and quality risks; collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve issues.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, 5S, guarding, and workmanship.
  • Drive continuous improvement: enhance reliability, PMs, and share learnings.
  • Develop Maintainer‑level capability within 12 months (operation support, setups, basic PMs, troubleshooting).
  • Complete onboarding/shadowing to learn equipment, QA, and site standards.
  • Demonstrate strong craftsmanship, safe habits, and proactive learning.

Job Accountabilities

Role Summary

The Millwright is a hands‑on mechanical specialist who supports complex preventive maintenance, major repairs, and overhaul activities and assists Maintainers during challenging breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance (Non‑Negotiable)
  • Adhere to all safety procedures at all times; stop work and eliminate unsafe conditions.
  • Apply LOTO and verify zero energy before working on equipment.
  • Maintain proper guarding, use tools safely, and never bypass safety devices.
  • Follow PPE, working‑at‑heights, housekeeping, and hazard reporting requirements.
  • Comply with quality standards and prevent contamination
