Job summary

A global risk management company is seeking experienced Industrial Mechanic - Millwrights for an assignment in Central Ontario. The role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical machinery and equipment. Candidates should have a valid 433A certificate and a minimum of 1 year’s experience in a manufacturing environment. Competitive pay includes $65/hour and additional allowances for meals and travel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid 433A certificate of qualification – Industrial Mechanic.

  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal).

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various machinery.
  • Use and interpret schematics and blueprints related to plant equipment.
  • Maintain plant equipment at optimum efficiency.
  • Select and install hydraulic tubing, black piping, and hose assemblies.
  • Review work assignments to ensure safe work execution.

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Industrial Mechanic - Millwrights for an upcoming assignment in Central Ontario. Your job will involve installation, maintenance & troubleshooting of on-site electrical machinery and equipment.

This position will require you to work 12 hour shifts, 7 days per week when assigned to a project.

You will earn :
  • $65.00 per hour before overtime
  • $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
  • Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
  • Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)
Duties & Responsibilities :
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs associated on various machinery.
  • Use and interpret schematics and blueprints related to plant equipment
  • Practice and maintain standard operating procedures and remain compliant with all quality, safety, production and environmental rules, standards and regulations
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date maintenance database records
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of lock out tag out and confined space entry.
  • Select and install hydraulic tubing, black piping, rubber and plastic hose assemblies including all couplings and fittings
  • Apply hydraulic and pneumatic theory to all industrial installations, repair and maintenance
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair compressed air systems and hydraulic systems
  • Use and maintain hand and power tools and equipment, testing instruments for layout, cutting, reaming, threading, forming and bending, fastening, welding, soldering, grinding and leveling, wire and cable pulling, and rigging
  • Experience with rigging of equipment, set-up and alignment of machinery and equipment
  • Review work assignments and job procedures to ensure safe and reliable work execution
  • Maintain plant equipment at optimum efficiency
Skills & Qualifications :
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Hold a valid 433A certificate of qualification – Industrial Mechanic
  • Min 1 year millwright experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical and communication skills
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
