Description

We are currently looking for a skilled Industrial Mechanic Millwright to deploy and maintain equipment and machinery for our commercial plant for our integrated R&D and commercial production facility located in Delta, BC (Tilbury Island). The individual will have experience in pipefitting and the installation and servicing of a diverse range of process equipment. The Millwright will work with our Process Engineering, Operations and Maintenance teams to perform both regular preventative maintenance and corrective repairs to our facilities, in addition to executing upgrades to expand the functionality of our systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to follow the process of commissioning and maintaining the equipment through the startup of a first‑of‑its‑kind production facility.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that our safety and environmental rules and programs are consistently adhered to.
  • Maintenance of equipment spanning process flow through water treatment, electrochemical processing and crystallization.
  • Assist with planning of upgrade and maintenance projects.
  • Assemble bills of materials for related work.
  • Execute on mechanical and machinery upgrade projects at pilot and commercial scale.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on process equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain service records through thorough and accurate documentation.
Requirements
  • Completion of an industrial mechanical apprenticeship or combination of over 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Red Seal certified as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) is an asset.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems for tracking inventory and processing workorders.
  • Good working knowledge of industrial control systems and electrical equipment is an asset.
  • Familiarity with electrochemical technology is an asset.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Working Conditions
  • This position may require shifts and weekend work to support 24/7 operations.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and perform manual labour for extended periods.
