Job summary

RONA in Vancouver is seeking a customer service associate to help customers, answer questions, and guide product selections in-store or by phone. You will manage special orders and keep the store organized for a great shopping experience.

Familiarity with selling skills, strong communication, and a willingness to learn are valued; the role involves lifting and stocking duties and may require participation in training and product knowledge building.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused approach and a friendly demeanor are essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to assess customer needs and make recommendations.
• Experience in a customer-focused role is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical duties including stretching, bending, lifting, and carrying medium to heavy products.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with information and product requirements in-store or over the telephone.
• Prepare special orders, obtain details, and coordinate with the Special Order Purchaser for pricing and delivery dates.
• Maintain store presentation, ensure shelves are stocked, and manage promotions and signage.
• Stay informed on flyers and promotional events to aid selling.
• Continuously improve product knowledge and selling skills through available training.
• Other related tasks to ensure the store runs smoothly.

Your role:

• Assist customers with their information/product requirements in the store or over the telephone
• Prepare special orders, obtain the required information and specifications from customer, contact Special Order Purchaser to establish and confirm price and available delivery date
• Maintain entire store, including ensuring area is well stocked and merchandised with current product levels and information signage. Monitor inventory levels, perform inventory counts, and highlight inventory concerns
• Keep current on flyer and promotional events
• Actively strive to increase product knowledge, understand application and/or renovation techniques, and improve selling skills by participating in available training sessions
• Other related tasks to ensure the store runs smoothly

What we're looking for:

• Effective selling skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service are essential
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are needed to assess customer requirements and make recommendations
• Some experience in a customer-focused role is required
• The ability to perform work duties involving stretching, bending, lifting, and carrying medium to heavy products is required
